Brianne Gluck, Isobel Brogan and Summer Smith sharpening their ball skills.
Bridgetown’s aspiring young basketballers enjoyed some expert tuition while having a ball down at the Rec Centre on Monday June 15.
Groups of primary and high school students were put through their paces in the Healthways Smarter than Smoking Basketball Skills Clinic under the watchful eye of Craig Goulder.
The training program was designed by Zané Bricit, the southwest development officer of Basketball WA.
It proved so popular that each group was oversubscribed and had to be limited to 25 student each, a number ruled by the limits of effective teaching, rather than the coronavirus pandemic.
The program aims to promote healthy lifestyles, exercise, food and mental health while teaching basketball skills.
Those skills will prove all-important for Bridgetown’s participation in the WA Country Basketball Championships each year
